![]() That was 10+ hours to download a 700 mb file. I was able to download files at less than 1% of my available bandwidth. Yes thats a decimal point in front of the 73. The download speeds at my house are 78 Mbps on average. The file was large (700 MB) but not huge. Last Friday afternoon, one of our team members sent me a file I needed for a client. ![]() Last week, the company slipped to download speeds that rival the best of the Internet at least if it was 1992. ![]() I have seen delivery speed crawl to ridiculously slow rates. Recently, the service has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. I could set them to auto expire as well as get return receipts once a file was downloaded. Sure, Dropbox works well, but Hightail and YouSendIt were easier to manage and I didn’t need to go in and clean out files. I have also highly recommended it for years as an easy way to share files and send things to clients. I have been a customer of YouSendIt (now Hightail) for at least five years. Many of us need to send large images or video files between clients and team members as part of our jobs. In this case though, I am making an exception based on recent experiences with a company. There are so many great products out there to help photographers. This will allow you to directly share a single file from a Space.At Photofocus, our general policy is to only review products we like. From there you will be able to choose “Send” from the dropdown option. To do this click on the checkbox in the file thumbnail on the Space view which will them bring up the blue bar option. You can also leverage the “Send” functionality of Hightail to share that file with someone directly. You can share the link to a specific file within a Space by simply copying the URL from your browser window when previewing the file. Spaces themselves act as they main organizational and sharing function, and if you share a single file within a Space, you will be giving access to the entire Space. Is there a way to share a file within the Space by allowing you to copy a link and paste into another document? When you upload a whole folder, we parse out all of the individual files, so it will not retain its folder structure within Hightail. If you want to keep updates and feedback separate in the separate Projects, it is best to copy that Space.Ĭan you upload complete folders from your computer? Keep in mind that when updates are made to that Space, those updates manifest in all of the Projects that Space is part of. Yes, the same Space can be added to multiple Projects. But similar to notifications, we are exploring future options around archiving entire Projects.Ĭan the same Space be used in multiple projects – or is it better to duplicate the Space in order to keep it independent? We also allow you to archive individual files within a Space. Yes, Spaces can quickly be unarchived if you need to share them to continue collaboration.ĭo you archive at all levels or just the Space level?Ĭurrently we provide the ability to archive at the Space level. If you want to share an Archived Space you would first need to unarchive it.Īnd, can you move Archived Spaces back into collaboration mode? It’s worth noting though, that the Projects, File Groups and Archiving features are only available to initiate by our Teams and Business subscribers.Ĭan I get notifications when content has been uploaded to one of our Spaces from a client? Our free users do have limitations in terms of the total amount of data that they’re able to have in Hightail at any one time. But for all of our paid accounts, there’s no limit to the amount of data and therefore no limit to the number of Spaces, Projects or File Groups. Is there any limit to the number of Spaces, Projects or File Groups that you can create?
